Overall strategyEdit

This Dutch-designed warship is fast and deadly, thanks to its build. While it won't be able to tow a bombard and train its muzzle on enemy cities, it is however useful for various tasks — exploration, marine scouting, as well as harassing enemy assets which are not defended, and interdicting nefarious attacks by cowardly Fire Vessels and Rocket Boats against your vessels. Additionally, the added speed and mobility of the Yacht makes it more useful as an escort/interceptor vessel, although unlike the Galley it has lower yaw rates and thus isn't as flexible when used in narrow stretches of water. Yachts are piloted mostly by Dutch, English and Danish sailors, but also comprise a vital part of the American fleet.

There are several issues, however, with the use of Yachts and that is only factions which have researched Liberalism may hope to field them. Additionally, Yachts unlike Galleys only can fire broadsides and so must burn additional movement time just to bring their guns to bear on the foe, which don't fire as far as a Galley's. This however is offset by the fact that the Yacht carries more guns, and so is able to to cause more damage over time.
