Overall Strategy[]

The Toro Submarino is an odd unit. Not only does it function like a slower-moving and more inferior Torpedo Boat, but it has one special ability that makes it very useful: it will be stealthed when not attacking or moving, thus making it in effect function like a Torpedo Boat until you capture a MIC to obtain the Submarine.

Because of the speed of these units and the fact that they are very vulnerable to surface fire, however, Toros should not be used offensively unless escorted by heavier units that can provide effective cover, such as Ironclads or Steam Frigates. It is true that they do well against the same units, but you should always be wary if your enemy brings Torpedo Boats — these are the real bane of the Toro as a unit.
