They are not as hard-hitting nor as well-endowed with survivability as the Fusiliers of most European nations, but Mysore Tigers are still sufficiently strong to pose a threat against cavalry, owing to their proficiency with muskets. The only problem however is that they cost Wealth as opposed to Metal, so creating vast numbers of these units can be a difficult challenge. All told, however, you may be better off recruiting cavalry of your own, as opposed to raising these soldiers, although their performance in battle can never be dismissed.
