Overall strategy[]

In societies without a strong industrial base, bows continue to be used as the weapon of choice by various cultures for warfare and hunting, and thus Levy Archers can be found in the more primitive nations of Rise of Napoleon.

Although they don't train as quickly as Musketeers normally would, Levy Archers are still of immense use being vastly cheaper and capable of firing salvos that can cause damage to light shipping and structures with flaming shot Even so, do not forget that these men are still inferior with regards to main line infantry, so use them wisely, either for showering your enemy's missile cavalry and melee infantry, or rushing his building to destroy them. Ideally the best combos for them are to mix them in with Cannon and Spearmen, with the Cannon doing the task of demolishing the enemy's gun infantry.

Should you find yourself facing off against enemies armed with archers, always remember that they are weak against cavalry, so if you are playing as one of the gunpowder factions, get your light cavalry and your Musketeers out on the double. Since Levy Archers will usually come to the battlefield along with Spearmen, your first task is to elimnate the Spearmen, and then close in with your light cavalry for the kill.
